A Freshmans First Day

Here is a Freshmans First Day, I got an email from my proffesor a day or two before class started. The actual email said:

ATTENTION: All SED 104 Students

Hello and welcome to the class! The location for the class has just been resolved. Apparently, with the record number of new students this fall
class room space availability has been a challenge.

I am glad to inform you that the class will meet in the Wallace Building room 233.

I am looking forward to meeting and working with
each of you. Beginning Monday, you will be able to access information for the course on Blackboard. At that time you will be provided with all of my contact information and other related details. Until Monday, feel free to send me messaages via email at: norman.powell@eku.edu
My number at home is :(859)-623-7974. Please confirm that you have received this message.

Now let me show you the message that I actually read:

The only difference in the entire message is the room number. On with the story now. I woke up around 9ish and got ready. Out of the dorm around 9:45 and just waited till class started. I went to class around 10:05, class starts at 10:10. So I hear a girl asking where room 223 is, being the nice person I am I show her. We sat outside the class room for about 5 mins and another girl walked up and asked were room 223 is, we told her right here. It is now 10:10 and the door is still closed, no sign of our proffesor, lights off in the room, and only us 3. We started to talk and make jokes and just have a good time thinking he was running late, along with the rest of the class. Seems odd but what can you expect from a college student. Well after 10 mins pasted another proffesor walked out of his room. He got a drink of water and asked us if we needed help. I simply told him that we were just waiting for our teacher. He asked where our class was. We told him room 223. After he had a really confused look on his face for quite some time he finally said, " Thats a closet." So as you can imgaine we were really confused. He told us to go down to room 245 and ask for Amy and she would show us to class. So after feeling like a complete idiot we showed up to class about 10-15 minutes later.

So there is a Freshamns first day for you

You could have been like my students, who attended the wrong class all week, and didn't realize till I emailed them about not showing up to my class (seriously, I had at least 5 of those). I'm still missing about 12 students. I mean, sure, you can't read and want to attend class in a closet, but at least you did want to attend class. The remainder of my missing students are probably off drinking beer somewhere. Go WVU!

You know now that you have a blog I'll have to bug you to keep up with it, just like Jim bugs me. What goes around, comes around. :)
